Good morning!! Hope everyone’s weekend is unfolding nicely!! It is weird to have Christmas come and go so quick. Yesterday we took down our tree and now our house doesn’t have that Christmas feel to it. Crazy how you put the tree up, you put it down, cycle of life. Things come and go and life moves on!
Yesterday was an amazing day. I started the day with an awesome Leg workout… Yes, I did legs, but always focusing on hamstrings and glutes. Here was my workout:
tri set of 30 REPS-3 SETS
-free standing, stationary deep squats holding a 25# plate–feet wide and using my glutes to push up
-leg press, using heels to press up (25# plate on each side)
-leg extensions-30#
Then moved onto
3 sets of 40# 20 rep lying hamstring curls
2 sets of 20# 20 rep standing hamstring curls
2 sets of 20 reps butt blasters
finished with 30 reps of standing calve raises
Home to eat and then M and I went for a hike up Cowles Mountain, a 1.5 mile hike up to the highest part of San Diego. We took Bruno and it was a great change and way to get in cardio! There were tons of people out and about!
The rest of the day we spend cleaning the house and just hanging out before heading to PF Changs for Dinner.
Here was my menu for yesterday:
meal 1 — oatmeal and protein shake
meal 2- 2 egg white/4 oz turkey omelet with 4 oz yam hashbrowns
meal 3- 5 oz turkey with big salad and grilled onions
meal 4- protein shake with oatmeal
meal 5 –Pf Changs
meal 6 protein shake
I usually order the Ginger Chicken, steamed without the sauce and a side of grilled asparagus, from PF Changs. Of course, unfortunately my order came out as is on the menu. It was so busy and there were so many people that I decided to just go with it. See this is me being flexible and this is a perfect idea of a “refuel Meal” still clean with chicken, broccoli and asparagus but the added sauce, which I typically could live without, adds for a great refuel meal. Not on the everyday menu but still clean. Tons of salt and more calories but not going to kill me.
So many people ask me what my idea of a refuel meal is and this is a great example of picking healthy choices but ordering it as is… Even though I didn’t order it as is, the meal came as is, so I used this meal as my Refuel… no biggie.. a little salt loaded today but oh well.. I guess I will have to sweat it out. 😉
