The Giants made serious history last night, winning their first World Series since they moved to San Francisco! Amazingly this “ragtag bunch” wasn’t a team of big names or super talent like the days of Willie Mays, Barry Bonds and Juan Marichal. This team may not have had the best players of the league but they pulled together as a team and had heart! What an amazing evening for the Giants and for history but a great lesson for life! It doesn’t take the best of the best to be the best but it takes “heart and determination”. The Giants were not going to be denied and as their coach said, “they accepted their roles and had only one mission.” This was a team free of egos and did everything right to stay in the game! They told themselves to keep working hard and with the determination, heart and persistence, they did it!!
Sports offers so many life lessons. Last night was one for the record books, literally, but it made so many people reflect on what it takes to be a success!
TOP WORLD SERIES LESSONS
-Regardless of who is on your team, if you play as a team, know your roles and know your personal strengths, you will win.
-Having the “best players” may seem appealing but it takes more than a reputable name (s) to win a title.
-Having heart overrides “big names” any day!
-Let go of the ego and just play the game and the outcome will be great!
-Have one mission and allowing nothing to get in the way of that mission!
-Hard work will always pay off in the end!
-A combination of hard work, determination and persistence is the ticket to success!
November 1, 2010 made history and also made people think about the valuable lessons exposed! The Giants were a team who encompassed no big names but a bunch of egoless hearts, which is what won them the title!
Anything you do, go after it whole heartedly with one single mission, let go of the ego and the outcome will be great!
