Hope everyone had a great day. By the posts, sounds like everyone was productive and we are moving into the middle of the week, full speed ahead! I had a killer workout this a.m. and enough to drop my blood sugar levels so low that I had to really pull it together before my client… I usually end my workouts around 9, allowing me 10 minutes or so to eat and cool down. Well today out of all days, my client walks in early before even taking a bite out of my meal! I had to scarf down my post workout meal and get my blood sugar back up quick. took about 10 minutes but I was back in action and alive again! The workout of the day was the following:
-run 1/2 mile
-body weight squats followed by push ups 21,15,9 reps
-5 sets of push ups off a bench, 15 reps
-incline front delt/upper chest press with 20# dumbbells 15 reps
-tricep over head extension with 25# dumbbell 15 reps
finished up with the following, scaling up from 1 rep, 2 reps… up to 10 reps
dip on the assisted dip machine, burpee, push up, sit up
If you are wondering what a burpee is…
The burpee is a full body exercise used in strength training and as aerobic exercise. It is performed in four steps:
* Begin in a standing position.
* Drop into a squat position with your hands on the floor in front of you.
* Kick your feet back, while simultaneously lowering yourself into a pushup
* Immediately return your feet to the squat position, while simultaneously pushing up with your arms.
* Leap up as high as possible from the squat position with your arms overhead
I was beat and this took me to low blood sugar levels and to the point of “Don’t talk to me”. lol ( not so funny at the time!)
After training clients and heading home, I had a few video cooking clips taken and have been working on line ever since. The day flew by and Chef Girl G was in the kitchen prepping simple Almond butter oats, my Famous Quinoa Salad and A delicious Breakfast buritto! Recipes and videos to be posted soon. We have tons of quinoa salad left so I guess I know what is on the menu for the rest of the week!!
Today’s meals were as follows:
-oats, shake and coffee
-apple, 1/2 c. oats and protein shake
-5 oz chicken, 1/2 c. quinoa salad
-same as meal #3
-6 egg whites, 1 rice cake with 1 tbsp almond butter
-Dinner: 5 oz shrimp with salad topped off with warm vinaigrette dressing– posted today
-shake or eggs before bedtime…
Off to spend the evening with my honey!!
