Q: Sometimes it’s really hard for me to get down tons of plain water yet if I make fruit punch Crystal Light I can chug as much as I need to get down. Is this the same as drinking water? Is the idea to just get down a ton of non-caffinated fluid or is it pure water (with no flavoring) that we need? Thoughts…?
A: I hear you on the intake of ALL the water! It can be hard to get in tons of Plain water, it can get old! My theory on Crystal light is that it is okay to have here and there but does not replace water. I suggest you get in at least 3/4 gallon of plain water and then if you are dying and need a little extra flavor the crystal light is fine, at that point. Be sure to get in your plain water and then use the crystal light as a bonus. I am not too big on Crystal light though because it does have a ton of sweeteners so it is not a great habit to get into drinking it all the time. Of course here and there, no biggie but all the time, I would be cautious. I also notice that it make me hold water, because of the sweeteners. There are other things I use to spice up my water! (see below)
Here are a few suggestions and tips:
-slice up cucumbers and put them in your water to add flavor!! delicious and my favorite!
-use lemon or lime, even orange or your favorite fruit to naturally flavor your water!
(try even dropping in a few frozen berries) 🙂
-try a flavorful tea bag. My favorite is berry green tea by Salada! (so delicious)
Give some of those a try and see what you think. Try the cucumber for sure. I use a pitcher and place slices of cucumber in the pitcher and allow it to sit in my fridge for when I fill my bottle! That is my favorite! Subtle flavor but just what you need!
Great question!
