Rise and Shine everyone… Hope your week is unfolding well! Two more days until the weekend, let’s power through. Whether you are a weekend worker or take the weekends off, usually the weekends have more of a flexible feel to them. I have been practicing a new approach where I am dedicated to my cardio and training throughout the week and come the weekends, still being active and hitting cardio/training, but using the weekends for a much more flexible training schedule. Sometimes changing up times, location, routine, body parts and just going with how the day unfolds. It has been working out well and a great way to keep things fresh and exciting and offer that bit of flexibility we all need, in our schedules.
So yesterday, unfortunately, was tied up in the doctor’s office for a few hours. Just went in to meet a new primary doctor, since I have switched insurances. Got in at 10:15 and got out at 12:45, typical isn’t it… Big bummer, what was I thinking. Had 2 meals in me and didn’t bring with me a 3rd~! It has been so long since I have been to the doctors that I forgot how they work, always running late! Preparation, where was my food prep. I could have simply placed a quest bar in my purse but I was not thinking… See we all make mistakes and as much as we get better and better, things happen! Lesson Learned, once again! PREPARATION IS KEY!!!
So while sitting in the doctors office, realized something:
-what motivates me (per a forum post from Summer), this is one of the things— not having to go to the doctors on a regular basis! If I had to go to the doctors, smell that “hospital smell”, sit and wait and wait some more, I think I would go crazy! Then to people watch, that in itself makes you want to jump out of your seat and hit the beach running! Without our health we have nothing!! we take things for granted because we are so healthy and fit but be fortunate for the healthy state we are in!
so What motivates me— THE THOUGHT OF BEING SICK AND UNHEALTHY!–
Needless to say, with my doctors appointment taking longer than I thought, I had to play a little catch up and shift my usual schedule around… I had to utilize a little flexibility yesterday and adjust 😉
Thought for today….
We all have our days, good and bad, remember– we are human! Think about how much it means to you to receive a note in the mail from a friend or family member, who extends their love to you. When you are going through a hard time, doesn’t a simple card lift you up? We all need such encouragement and often we forget that it’s okay and normal to go through such hard times. We can’t be full of strength all the time! If you know someone who may be going through a difficult time or may need a little boost, find them and give them a hug or if they are afar, send them a card. Such a simple gesture will go a long way and could change someone’s day! Pay it forward…
Have a beautiful day and check back for updates later!
hugs
