Hello Everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend and if you aren’t already sleeping, getting pretty close to calling it a night. I was running around all day, started at the gym and from there worked online for most of the day, got in a nap, and then off to run errands. I am planning to have some fun with the guest room where the furniture set use to be. We got a futon and other than that, the room is empty so room to play and be creative. I am going to use the room as a guest room as also a stretching room and just a relaxing place to read a book, and just be. I have decided to give the room a little color to give the room a certain energy. Yellow… Like the energy of a bright sunny day, yellow brings clarity and awareness. You are suppose to use yellow when you want to improve:
* clarity for decision-making
* relief from exhaustion
* sharper memory and concentration skills
* protection from lethargy and depression during dull weather
I am doing some reading on chakra’s and the color we associate with the Solar Plexus chakra is yellow. Yellow energy brings about increased feelings of well-being, motivation, positive thinking, and the expression of inner joy. When our Solar Plexus chakra is balanced, we will have overall feelings of joy, optimism, and good humor.
So I am stuck on a shade of yellow but now how the heck do I pick the right shade, color, color combo, etc.?? I am thinking of doing more of a sponge type paint job! I am using this room as my little project, trying to do my own research on where and how to begin. I started by taking a trip to Home Depot and picked out about 20 swatches of all shades of yellow but now what… 😉 Now I have to play around with the different colors with different lighting during different times of the day. And then what…?? pick one and go for it?? Pick a few, buy some sponges and just start sponging away…?? This is all new to me so doing my best to use my creative side and take my time to put together the room just as I have it envisioned in my head! I will keep you posted 🙂 Kind of fun and exciting challenge for me. Any tips from master painters out there? Anyone else have yellow in their nests? Something about a nice yellow, just makes you smile! Thinking along the lines of this:

We had a wonderful time with our guests last night!! Awesome food, conversation and of course fun times playing catch phrase! We switched up the menu a bit and had
-scallops “breaded” in flaxseeds
-Salmon with a lemon mustard dressing
-Tons of grilled veggies (egg plant, zucchini, asparagus and bell peppers)
-Big Salad
-Quinoa salad stuffed Bell peppers
Wow that is a lot of food…
Michael made the scallops –dipped in egg whites and rolled in flaxseeds. They were delicious!
We both did the stuffed bell peppers (clean out peppers and fill with quinoa salad– quinoa, olive oil, celery, onions, mushrooms and broil on low until golden brown on top)
Oh yes and I made my famous Cucumber Martini’s (soaked 1/2 diced cucumber in Vodka for a few hours then shake with ice and pour in chilled martini glass with a cucumber slice over the rim) 🙂
Everything turned out fantastic and it was a great way to spend a Saturday night!
Today was a cardio only day with two 3 mile walk and 20 minutes of fast incline walking.
I feel the need to want to pick things up this week so My intensity is going to shift for this week. The past few weeks, my training has been focusing on cardio and less with the intensity of the weights. I want to finish out the month nice and strong with both my cardio and weights. Let’s do this!
Off to make a veggie omelet before bed! Until tomorrow everyone
good night!
