Hope everyone’s day is off to a great start!  I can’t believe it, I walked into the gym this morning with “Merry Christmas” painted on the doors.  Can’t we get through Thanksgiving first…? I can’t believe the holidays are here already and thanksgiving is this week.  Christmas shortly after, crazy… 2009 is almost over.  2009 has been a crazy year with everything that has been going on in the World.  Seems like there has been a lot of stress in the air and the second you turn on the t.v. you get depressed… Lucky for me, I have never been much of a t.v. person so I don’t get sucked into the drama but let me tell you it is still in the air.
Hanging out with Flat Stanley, as funny as it sounds, brought a smile to my face because you see what the world looks like from a child’s point of view. Put aside that Stanley is a piece of laminated paper and think about the big picture of the small things that matter…  Here is a young school boy who is focusing on getting Stanley to see the world and then there is Stanley who is seeing the world and having a blast.  He is just a flat piece of paper but experiencing and enjoying life with so many different people and in so many different places.  He is not judgmental, just goes with the flow and whereever he ends up he ends up.  One minute he is out to dinner with two cute chicas drinking martinis and the next minute he is hanging out with the a doctor watching him give an operation.  Then you have the school boy who is so excited to see where his little project ends up and the journey he gets to learn about.  I got a good laugh at Stanley because it was such innocent fun!  It really made me think about the innocent minds of children and made me think about what it would be like to be young again.
Less focus on superficial things, things that don’t matter in the end, and more on enjoying life and living it to its fullest, regardless of what is going on in the world… something to think about.
Crazy how such a simple thing made me think of things in a different light.
On another note, I am so sore from my boot camp class!! It feels so good and a different kind of sore.  I am admitting it, that class kicked my a**!  I wasn’t sure how I was going to push through my walk with Bruno this a.m., I could hardly walk.  We took it easier than normal but believe it or not, I got in a mile run at sub 7 and that was after my upper chest/shoulder training
